Tree House by 6a Architects | via

The extension was designed by 6a Architects to provide a new ground-floor bedroom and bathroom for the London house, which is an amalgamation of two cottages constructed in the 1830s.

A ramped corridor runs parallel to the existing house, negotiating a gentle change in level and allowing access for the mother of the family, who uses a wheelchair. This corridor connects the house’s living room with the new bedroom suite, which extends out into the garden.

Ermitage is a wooden cabin situated on the island of Trossö, Sweden. Designed by SEPTEMBRE, the cabin features a sauna and bedroom, with two large windows furnishing views of the ocean on one side; pines on the other. A large sliding door effectively doubles the living area when open, whilst a pitched roof complements the style of neighboring fishing huts.

Andy Goldsworthy

It’s fairly impossible to predict what British artist Andy Goldsworthy might come up with next! The Scotland-based artist creates intriguing, site-specific land art that utilizes natural resources in completely unexpected ways. The final results are organized, colorfully radiating leaves, spiraling sticks, and mounds of thin rocks that convey the beauty of the natural environment in creative works of art.
